Space Dough: A Fabulous Way For Kids To Play

Space Dough: A Fabulous Way For Kids To Play

Playdough is a classic that never grows old!

Space Dough is our latest product; it's playdough with a twist. Our playdough is lightly scented and gluten-free. Unlike our competitors, Space Dough is gluten-free for kiddos with gluten sensitivity. Playdough is a great sensory and learning experience for children. You may have been skeptical at first. Playdough, really? It's just putty that kids love to make a mess with, right? Wrong! Not only is it fun, but it's a great educational tool that can help your child learn.

Playdough is a fun way to help kids develop their imagination while playing. Kids can use their hands to shape the dough into anything they want and then use cookie cutters or other tools to make the play dough into even more shapes. They can also decorate their creations with paintbrushes, stamps, and stencils.

The physical benefits of playing with playdough are just as significant as the creative ones. As kids manipulate the soft dough, they'll strengthen their muscles—especially their hands and fingers—and develop fine motor skills. This activity helps children develop coordination between the brain and muscles that will help them learn how to write letters or draw pictures later in school.

Tips for using our Space Dough to develop fine motor skills:

Roll small balls of playdough between the thumb and pointer, and middle fingers.

Roll out long snakes on the table, then use our themed wooden roller pin. Each roller is unique with its own print and provides hours of fun.

Spiral a long snake into a cinnamon roll.

Smoosh playdough into a pancake and then decorate it like a pizza.

In case you haven't heard, play dough is a fantastic thing. Kids love it because it's fun to make and play with, parents love it because it keeps kids entertained for hours on end, and parents of kids with sensory issues love it because it can be used to help children who are hypersensitive to certain textures or sounds.

But there is one drawback to play dough: it can get stuck in all sorts of places.

You can try these tips for cleaning playdough off of surfaces:

-Use a sponge with warm water and soap to remove excess playdough on hard surfaces like tile or wood floors.

-Mix some flour into the remaining playdough until it becomes dry enough to brush away with an old toothbrush.

-Use a vacuum cleaner hose attachment with no attachments (just the tube) on any carpets where there's still some dried play dough after brushing or vacuuming the mess.

-Dampen a cloth with hot water and place it on top of the playdough. Let it sit there for about an hour. This will soften the play dough, making it much easier to remove.

We've been working on it for the past couple of months and have learned a lot in that time, including perfecting our gluten-free recipe. We're thrilled to be finally sharing Space Dough with the world. We hope you find this blog post useful and enjoyable.
